Welcome! Business Women of Cherokee County was organized in 2004 for business women or women who mean business. You do not have to own a business to join, but you do have to have a desire to advance the cause of business in Cherokee County.
Our mission is to Provide an open forum where women with diverse occupations can help themselves and others grow professionally and personally through leadership, education, networking support, and community service.
We strive to provide educational and economic support to traditionally disadvantaged members of society by sponsoring workshops, conferences and other resources for its members.
Our vision is to see women of all professions and cultures come together unified and empowered by sharing the belief in the ability to create and shape how they live and grow within our community.
Our main community charitable project is a resource for middle and high school girls called “The Princess Closet.” This resource offers prom and formal dresses and accessories to disadvantaged girls who would miss this opportunity because of financial inabilities.

Annual JULY 4th Hometown Celebration
This was our fourth and most successful year organizing this highly attended event at Konehete Park near downtown Murphy, NC. The brainchild of our first president, Marie Speigel, the event encourages local businesses to come together to support, sponsor and participate in this event.
The money raised by this event goes toward community charitable projects like “The Princess Closet” and networking, and educational opportunities for our members and the community.
